Domenico Ferreri was born in Reggio Calabria (Italy) in 1946 and he lives in Rome.
He holds a master’s degree in aeronautical engineering from the Naples University (1971).
He was lieutenant in the Italian Air Force (1972).
He was haired by Aeritalia (to day Alenia Aermacchi, owend by Leonardo) in 1973.
His background includes a four year working stage in Seattle (USA) where he moved in 1973 to work until 1977 in the marketing department of Boeing during the B-767 development, an international collaboration of the US company with the Italian Aeritalia (later Alenia Aeronautica) and the Japanese C.T.D.C. as risk sharing partners.
He has several years of experience in the airplane manufacturers’ industry as he spent the following ten years in Alenia Aeronautica, in charge of the worldwide sales support campaign of G222/C27j, ATR42 and ATR72.
As V.P. Business Development in Alenia Aeronautica, Domenico Ferreri contributed to the strategy making of the major operations concerning the Alenia Aerospace Industrial Policy during the following twenty years, participating to negotiations for international collaborations and structural alliances.
Thereafter he moved to Alenia Aermacchi as Senior Vice President Strategic Planning and new initiatives. Alenia Aermacchi was an italian aeronautical company worldwide leader in trainers manufacturing, owned by the FINMECCANICA group.
After the merger of Aermacchi with Alenia Aeronautica he became S.V.P. of Strategic Marketing, working closely with sales and strategic planning directorates of the company.
Retired in 2011 from Alenia, he founded his own consultancy company named Albatros S.a.s. working for Alenia for the next three years, as well as for other companies. Albatros is still working for leading italian aeronautical companies in the field of marketing, strategic planning, business development, merger and acquisition.
Domenico Ferreri is the author of a best seller book on marketing strategies in the aeronautic field, titled “Marketing and Management in the High Tecnology Sector, strategies and tactics in the commercial airplane industry”, published in the USA in 2003 by Praeger, Westport, CT.
